Serbian, Bosnian officials continue feud

President Boris Tadic says he will not host the next session of the Igman Initiative after Zeljko Komsic's remarks. B92 has learned that Tadic made the decision after Komsic, a member of the Bosnian Presidency, in a recent statement "insulted Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica," causing what the sources with the president described as "a serious incident." The simmering political crisis in Bosnia, with tension between the two entities and the high international representative in the country, Miroslav Lajcak, spilled over to the relations between Sarajevo and Belgrade, when Kostunica first accused Lajcak of jeopardizing the Dayton peace agreement, then tied the issue of Kosovo's status with that of the Bosnian Serb entity, the Republic of Srpska (RS). Komsic, a Croat member of the Bosnian Presidency, hit back by advising Kostunica not to interfere in Bosnian internal affairs, because in his words, "unless he [Kostunica] kept his fingers away, he could get both his fingers and his nose smacked." Kostunica's party, the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), then severely criticized B92 for reporting this piece of news. Today, Komsic was once again not in a mood for diplomatic etiquette when he reacted to the latest news from Belgrade regarding the Igman Initiative. "I don't care," he said, and added, "I am not interested," when asked why the Serbian president was "angry" at him. Komsic added he had no plans to attend the now cancelled session, meant to take place in Belgrade.
