The Hague Tribunal today found two of the three former JNA officers guilty of war crimes committed in Vukovar. Former Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) officer Mile Mrksic was handed a 20-year prison term, while Veselin Sljivancanin will spend five years behind bars for his role in the 1991 murder of 260 Croatian prisoners at Ovcara farm near Vukovar. In its closing statement, the procesution, that started its case on October 11, 2005 and ended it on March 16, 2007, demanded life imprisonment for all three, while the defenses sought acquittal.
