A number of events in Kosovo and Serbia proper Thursday marked International Missing Persons Day. A spokesman for the association for missing persons, Borivoje Adjancic, called on the representatives of the international community and Kosovo government to help the families of the kidnapped and missing to find out what happened to their loved ones. Around 100 members of families of the kidnapped and missing from Kosovo also gathered on the main town square in Kraljevo, southern Serbia, demanding that the international community and Serbian government officials determine what happened to their relatives. On the occasion of International Missing Persons Day, the Humanitarian Law Fund, a Belgrade-based NGO, urged the authorized in Belgrade to help uncover the facts about the missing in the wars of the former Yugoslavia. The fund in its news release stresses that "without learning the full truth about the fate of the missing, Serbian society will not be able to face the crimes that were committed on their behalf in the past."
