Đelić: Diplomatic means in fight for Kosovo

Đelić also said he hoped the Stabilization and Association talks with the EU would be resumed soon so that the SAA agreement could be signed by the end of the year.

“It was clear they [the EU] expected us to provide functional cooperation with The Hague as well as to set up a functional Council [for National Security]. Those are the conditions that the government can meet now, and do not include Mladić’s arrest,” Đelić told the daily.

“However, some ‘hopes’ that this condition will go away and that we should wait for Del Ponte to leave her post at the end of the year are delusional. This condition will not go away.”

Đelić also announced that Serbia’s draft budget will be presented to the government on June 7, while it is scheduled to be adopted on June 14.

“In this way, we make good on a series of promises, from tax abolition for first-time home buyers, via reduction of VAT for computers from 18 to 8 percent, to abolition of participation for the A1 list of medicines and granting of  EUR 100 per hectare of cultivated land,” Đelić added.

He also announced that the National Investment Plan (NIP) would be reformed and incorporated in the budget.
