He is also scheduled to meet with top state officials, Serbian delegates at the CoE, and NGO representatives.

Davis will meet with Foreign Minister Vuk Drašković, President Boris Tadić and Kosovo Coordinating Center Chairwoman Sanda Rašković-Ivić.

Serbia will take over the six-month chairmanship over the Committee of Ministers this May.

Davis said he hoped Serbia would assume the role in a responsible and efficient manner.

“I sincerely hope your government will do all to use this privilege in the best manner possible, to demonstrate Serbia’s democratic maturity and ability to for six months be at the helm of the oldest and largest of European organizations, gathering 800 million citizens and 46 states,” Davis told Politika daily.

Davis also said he considered Serbia’s progress related to obligations undertaken with the country’s CoE membership significant, and added that a lot still remained to be done, including full cooperation with the Hague Tribunal.
