Cabinet talks at standstill

He confirmed that the cabinet makeup process had been stalled owing to the fact that potential coalition partners failed to grasp the essence of principles regarding the functioning of the new cabinet that the DS had posed and advocated ever since.

Former prime minister Zoran Živković said that political parties seemed to have forgotten their purpose, calling the negotiation principles “a mere bargaining.”

“The responsibility sharing principle a.k.a. “the sixth principle” has been designed to make Koštunica prime minister for life,” Živković said.

G17 Plus leader Mlađan Dinkić said that president Tadić should by the end of March offer prime minister’s post to a candidate he believed was capable to assemble a cabinet and secure the majority in the Parliament.

He added that in case the democratic block’s parties fell short of reaching an accord in the next two weeks, they should never be again able to agree on any matter.
