Cabinet talks continue in DS headquarters

“As the largest party of the democratic bloc, we will advocate the same firm position regarding the structure and principles of the new government with each party we meet during the cabinet talks”, Đelić said adding that the Democrats scheduled meetings with the Liberal Democratic Party for Tuesday, and DSS-NS coalition Wednesday, followed by the talks with the minority parties.

Ahead of today’s talks with G17 Plus representatives, the DS candidate for premiership Božidar Đelić said he expected a debate over the economic reforms.

“I expect a thorough revision of the National Investment Plan, which doesn’t comprise genuine infrastructural investments according to numerous indicators. We could argue with the G17 regarding the issue, but the cabinet structure and the government’s set principles are unlikely to cause debate”, Đelić said.

Commenting on the Finance Ministry, Đelić argued that it should belong either to the DS or the DSS, namely the backbone of the future government.

“The parties that barely crossed the threshold are not entitled to claim the most prominent departments if we follow the principle of the democracy”, Đelić claimed.

DSS: Democrats to support Kosovo principles

*ALT
The Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) will insist that the DS overtly support the three key principles of the DSS’s platform pertaining to keeping Kosovo within Serbia.

DSS spokesperson Andrija Mladenović told a press conference earlier today that the DS representatives accepted their platform Friday leaving the elaborate discussion on the three key principles for the next meetings.

“It is crucial that the DS accepts the three key principles of our Kosovo platform, the first one being that the Serbian Government will always regard Kosovo as an indispensable part of Serbia”, Mladenović was quoted as saying.

The second principle implies that Serbian Government should dismiss recognitions of Kosovo’s independence made by any state or international organization, Mladenović explained.

The third principle reads that if any NATO member state recognized Kosovo, it would jeopardize relations between Serbia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, for it would mean that the NATO had bombed Serbia so as to enable the snatching of Kosovo.
