Democratic Bloc discusses new cabinet

The statement adds that the parties agreed on the next steps in the process of putting together a new cabinet, with one of the principal points being “agreement on the program and the future government’s priorities.”

Party officials told journalists that the two sides agreed on five principles for the future Serbian cabinet.

Dušan Petrović of the Democratic Party and Democratic Party of Serbia official Dragan Jočić said the meeting produced unanimous position on Kosovo, adding that the province’s independence was unacceptable, and offering full support to the state negotiating team taking part in the Vienna talks.

European integrations, swift resumption and conclusion of the SAA talks, securing EU candidate country status for Serbia and putting the country on the so-called white Schengen list all featured as the goals to be set before the new government.

Petrović and Jočić also said one of the priorities for the government would be “undertaking all measures to as soon as possible finalize cooperation with The Hague Tribunal and meet the country’s international obligations without delay.”

The parties are set to meet again on March 7, to “further discuss program principles, as well as the future coalition government structure.”
