Tadić to present proposal to parties
Meantime, Koštunica’s Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) demands urgent first parliament session in order to put together “a valid negotiating team”.“We will do all we can to have this constitutive session as soon as possible. We expect all other parliamentary parties to contribute to this end with a constructive approach, since it is the parliament alone that can provide a mandate for the continued negotiations”, DSS spokesman Andreja Mladenović said.
The Radicals have welcomed the DSS initiative, while other parties remain quiet on the issue.
Nenad Đurđević told B92 he believed the negotiating team in place has the capacity to conduct further talks, and doesn’t recommend haste in forming the new parliament.
KIM Radio reported yesterday, quoting diplomatic sources, that Belgrade, backed by Moscow, will now opt for Kosovo’s partition.
“I sincerely hope Belgrade does have Plan B, but such plan that will take into account all the relevant factors, not only Moscow. If Plan B exists and it only relies on Russia, then I think those who came up with it need to look back and consider how Serbia fared in the past when it relied exclusively on Russia”, Đurđević said.
KIM Radio also reported that Belgrade will undoubtedly boycott the new round of negotiations, leading to a point where Ahtisaari might face Russian veto in the UN Security Council.
