Đelić said he had a chance to talk to the representatives of the Icelandic pharmaceutical company Actavis, which owns Zdravlje Leskovac, about the possibility of increasing investment in Serbia.With representatives of the Lafarge Company, which owns the cement factory in Beočin, Đelić exchanged views on the political situation in Serbia, as Western media has expressed concerns regarding the size of the nationalist voting block in Serbia’s last elections.
The DS official also met with the deans of prestigious Universities including Berkley and the London Business School and with Kennedy Faculty from Harvard University about the establishment of a state scholarship fund to help the best and most talented Serbian students.
Božidar Đelić is the only participant from Serbia at the World Economic Forum which gathers 2,500 business leaders and politicians from all over the world.
Angela Merkel wants globalization push
She also warned of the flip side of globalization. What was an opportunity for some translated into fear for others, said Ms Merkel, whose country currently holds the EU presidency.
She called on politicians to create a framework that ensures globalization will be fair for everyone.
Trade ministers from more than 30 countries, meeting on the sidelines of Davos, and the German chancellor expressed hope that they could give a fresh impulse to trade liberalization, which she said would benefit everyone.
