Public company in charge of road infrastructure calls a tender to reconstruct a stretch of highway through Belgrade.

Belgrade stretch of highway reconstructed

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development granted a loan to partially cover the costs. Interested bidders can submit the pre-qualification documentation by March 13.

The reconstruction of the highway running trough Belgrade is a part of a large-scale project valued at 80 million euros, which also involves the construction of an 11-kilometer stretch from Batajnica to Dobanovci.

The tender for the construction of Batajnica – Dobanovci stretch will be announced after the project documentation has been completed.

The construction works on the Belgrade highway are a part of the Belgrade beltway nd Gazela bridge restoration projects. The estimated cost of the two projects stands at 290 million euros, EBRD reports.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development set aside 80 million for the projects. Putevi Srbije will fund the projects with 112 million euros, while the city of Belgrade is set to participate with further 7.5 million euros.  The European Agency for Reconstruction will donate funds necessary for the supervision of the works.
