“Arresting Mladić helpers was a mistake”

“I think the Mladić helpers arrests were a mistake, since the goal was not to get to the helpers, but to Ratko Mladić himself. Those arrested have indeed hid Mladić and it is now up to the courts to confirm this. However, we were under a huge amount of pressure from the outside as well as the inside to do something.""Operatively speaking, it would’ve been much smarter and much more efficient if we had never arrested them, but let them lead us to Mladić instead, let them be that clue. We have broken this network of helpers, but he now has a new network that guards him. It will be up to the next government to expose this new network”, Ljajić concluded.
