Burns: Status a month or two after elections

Burns said that more than seven years after the war had ended in Kosovo, the people of Kosovo does not know, nor has the international community given any hints, what the final status could be. Everyone has the right to know on which territory they live and who rules over this territory, Burns said.

Burns reiterated that the US did not publicly support any specific option, nor does it suggest solutions, explaining that it would not be appropriate to do so until Ahtisaari presents his recommendations.
