Koštunica’s party presents “future cabinet”

The so-called popular coalition is made up of the Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS) and New Serbia (NS).

Neither the current prime minister nor the candidate for the future foreign minister Vladeta Janković mentioned the Hague cooperation or the suspended EU talks in their respective speeches dedicated to the future policy of a government they hope to form.

Tadić: Đelić for prime minister

Boris Tadić told a rally in Novi Sad that the Democrat’s candidate for the future prime minister is Božidar Đelić.

Đelić was the finance minister in Zoran Điniđić’s cabinet.

The Democratic Party (DS) leader Boris Tadić earlier said Belgrade should serve as a development model for the rest of Serbia.

“Belgrade is not merely the capital and the administrative center, it is Serbia’s economic and social hub and its development will be followed by the entire country”, Tadić said during his visit to Belgrade City Hall.

He added that the capital’s development potentials were huge, while certain parts of the city, notably airports, river ports and highways “need further investment”.

G17 Plus leader rules out cooperation with Đelić

Mlađan Dinkić refused to speculate on the possibility of working in Vojislav Koštunica’s government again, but gave a clear negative answer when asked if he would accept to be a member of Božidar Đelić’s future cabinet.

Speaking for Radio B92, Dinkić still said he would prefer to see the so-called democratic bloc form the next government.

Dinkić also expressed his expectation that Serbia might become a EU candidate by the end of the first year of the future government, “provided it solved the Hague problem and signed the stabilization and association agreement with the EU by summer”.

Dačić: Socialists are genuine

Socialist Party of Serbia (SPS) president Ivica Dačić called on voters not to cast their ballots for those plagiarizing Socialist ideas.

In a rally held in Loznica, western Serbia, Dačić criticized some parties by saying they copied ideas, slogans and even SPS colors, in a bid to win over the Socialist voters.

Dačić gave some examples of this alleged practice: he accused Radicals of talking about an equal opportunities system, while the DSS uses the “Long live Serbia” slogan, and the Democrats declare themselves as a left-wing party. Dačić also faulted the Social-Democrats for representing the pensioners, and the Liberal-Democrats for adopting red as their party color.
