Wisner: Solution by end of January

U.S. Kosovo envoy Frank Wisner said Martti Ahtisaari will reveal his status proposal by the end of January next year.

Wisner: Solution by end of January

“We have reached an important phase of the negotiation nearing its end. The decision will come very soon”, Wisner said.

He added that the status decision will be in line with what the Kosovo majority expects.

“Those are legitimate aspirations that the U.S. supports. We have been in Kosovo for eight years now and we believe Kosovo deserves to decide on its future”, the American envoy said.

Ambassador Wisner stressed it was very important for his country that Kosovo remains quiet and concentrated on its goal.

“Kosovo negotiation team is determined to cooperate with Ahtisaari and the international community, and we must all support them”, Wisner told RT21.
