Serbian Government’s Media Office chief Srđan Đurić said that Martti Ahtisaari should resign from his position.

Ahtisaari “better off resigning”

Đurić said that it would be better for the UN special envoy for the Kosovo status question to submit his resignation, because he was unable to organize serious discussions and reach a solution of compromise.  

“Serbia is not aware of one letter of Ahtisaari’s document, which is the most logical evidence that the discussions do not exist, and that Ahtisaari is trying to switch the discussions with a controlled negotiation that has an already known conclusion. It is the right time for Ahtisaari to give this job to another international official, who will work following the UN Charter and international law from the beginning.” Đurić said.

“No one could ever give Ahtisaari the right to give away 15 percent of Serbia’s territory.” Đurić said.
