“The commercials can be qualified as primitive and pushy, like when someone is trying to sell you damaged goods”, she told Novi Sad’s Građanski List.

Strategic Marketing director Srđan Bogosavljević thinks the campaign in a way reminded of the communist system of a broad social consensus. He said that professionally speaking the referendum campaign was done according to all the rules of marketing, but says that despite that there is a possibility that the referendum will fail.

“The problem here is that no one’s passionate about this, so if the weather’s nice and they planned to go fishing, people won’t call it off on account of the referendum”.
