Boris Tadić says that while Serbia has no interest in ruling Kosovo Albanians, it is still entitled to defend its borders.

“Serbia does not wish to determine the destiny of the Kosovo Albanians, but we do have the legitimate right to defend our borders”, he said.

”It is too simplistic to claim that Serbs are guilty for the war, just as you can’t say Albanians alone are guilty. The responsibility lies with individuals with a name and a surname”, Tadić said.

Putin: Russia to monitor precedents

Russia endorses the principle of territorial integrity when it comes to other states, but will monitor international precedents, including Kosovo, Russian president Vladimir Putin says.

Asked whether the as yet unrecognized Republic of Abkhazia can become a part of Russia and ”what makes Abkhazia worse than Kosovo”, Putin said Russia had no ambition to expand its territory.
