US-Serbia military cooperation

The <a href="http://www.b92.net/eng/news/politics-article.php?yyyy=2006&mm=10&dd=03&nav_category=91&nav_id=37117" class="text-link" target= "_blank">US approved military aid </a>to almost two dozen countries yesterday, Serbia included.

US-Serbia military cooperation

Analysts say that the move had a great deal to do with the activities of the Serbian president and military senior official in Washington recently.

Military analyst Zoran Dragišić said that the decision of the American president is a direct result of these consultations.

“I think that in this way, they are realizing an even wider perspective of cooperation with our armed forces and the US military, and that we will have access to programs which the Americans have with partner-countries.” Dragišić said.

Dragišić added that in addition to the exchanges of knowledge and experiences, the cooperation between the US and Serbia will also include the exchange of military technology.

“I expect that this will soon reflect in the field of military training, as well as in the exchange of knowledge in the field of security.” Dragišić said.

“It should be noted that we have had a very high level of cooperation with the US thus far, however new limitless opportunities have opened. We should expect a complete development of relations between our nation and the US, which is very important for us strategically.” Dragišić said.
