Ilić: They set me up

At the New Serbia-Democratic Party of Serbia-United Serbia election rally in Leskovac, Ilić threatened the local government officials with arrests and accused the town’s police chief of covering up crimes.

“They stole 27 million dinars from Bobište, a Leskovac suburb. They got a flat in Belgrade for handing that job to a company. We know everything, they will be called to account after these elections, they are bound to do some time”, Ilić said, without specifying who he had in mind. He added that he warned Leskovac officials “not to steal” before. “MUP chief did not react in time, we know this, he even put his daddy up as an election candidate to counter us. Well, he’ll have to answer some questions too. So much stealing and dealing, while criminal complaints are kept tucked in drawers to enable candidates to run”, Ilić told the applauding crowd.
