The police detained suspects believed to have planned terrorist attacks for the night between Sunday and Monday.

Police foil terror acts in Montenegro

Veljović explained that the suspects’ activities were under police surveillance “for months”, but that the police acted “after it became evident citizens’ lives were at risk”.

The police confiscated small stashes of arms in some of the houses, while the entire arsenal of weapons was found in three caves and several other hidden locations.

Montenegrin police carried out its operation on the recommendation by the Special organized crime prosecutor Stojanka Radović, after gathered information showed that the persons arrested acted as an organized crime and terrorist group.
