Serbia's economic results "better than expected"

Serbia must continue the reforms with the same strength, the same energy and the same commitment, not only in accordance with the plan and program we have signed with the IMF, but with the sweeping reforms we have agreed on with the World Bank, the EBRD and other international financial institutions, said Vucic.

One of the messages is to remain cautious, and to work even harder for another year, until the reform program is completed, he added.

Vucic and Lagarde also discussed raising public sector salaries and pensions, which have been cut by ten percent on average since November last year, as part of the budget-cutting measures. The Serbian prime minister said that the talks on this matter with an IMF mission will continue in the second half of October.
