Central bank cuts key policy rate to 7.5 percent
The NBS Executive Board "took into account the fact that in the conditions of increased global activity caused by a quantitative relaxation of the European Central Bank, a consistent implementation of fiscal consolidation and structural reforms and closing of precautionary arrangements with the International Monetary Fund are impacting a higher interest of investors for investments in Serbia.""This is supported by the drop of the country's risk premium and higher demand for government's securities by non-residents, states the release, adding that such developments and inflationary expectations oscillating around the four percent target rate create the room for the monetary policy to provide a contribution to the long-term sustainable recovery of the local economy," the bank said.
