“We have reached an agreement today, the investor bought two hectares of land in the industrial zone in Sabac, and the production should begin in April,” Ljajić said.

The Turkish investor did not take much time to decide. Actually, the investor made the decision on the spot once he saw the location in the Šabac industrial zone, although the industrial zone in Zrenjanin and another location in Obrenovac were also on offer, as well as the factory halls of the Agricultural Corporation Belgrade (PKB), which could have been easily reconstructed and adapted for this purpose.

Ljajić said earlier on Tuesday that the Turkish company will employ around 100 people and that the investment's value would stand at EUR 4 million.

He said that this investment is not important only for Šabac, but also for entire Serbia, adding that so far Serbia had no investments from Turkey and the arrival of this investor would be the best recommendation for other Turkish investors that have withdrawn from the Syrian, Iraqi and Libyan markets.

“If this investment in Sabac is realized, I believe that it will not be the only one,” the minister told reporters.

Itimat owner Sahin Kara said that the company plans to introduce production of yellow cheese, mozzarella, feta cheese and butter, adding that the daily production of milk in Serbia would stand at around 50 tons.
