"Quotas for car exports to Russia may be agreed"

"We have a lot to talk about. This includes the car industry. Taking into account our relations, we could agree certain quotas for car exports to Russia," Putin said at the beginning of talks with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić.

Vučić addressed the public in the presence of Putin to say that "Serbia in its factory in Kragujevac produces Fiat 500L's," and asked him to accept import of these cars to Russia.

If Russia agrees to allow imports, it would be a boost for the factory that has in the past months reduced production due to lower demand in western Europe, and also to Serbian exports, considering that Fiat Automobiles Serbia (FAS) is the top exporter.

Putin also noted that the volume of the trade increased significantly in the first half of the year.

This is a good opportunity for Serbia to take a good place in the Russian market, Putin said, mentioning the possibility of credit lines for Serbian agricultural companies.

The Russian president mentioned agriculture as one of the fields offering prospects for further cooperation.

Then, he pointed to the possibility of European agricultural producers investing together with Russian ones in Serbia, and then placing the products on the Russian market.
