PM comments on South Stream, Labor Law

Vučić made the statement after Deputy PM Zorana Mihajlović told a newspaper

that the start of construction works on the pipeline in Serbia "would have to be postponed" since Bulgaria announced it was suspending the project.

"That kind of decision is made by the government, and the government has not held a session. As far as we're concerned everything is proceeding as planned, if there are any changes the government will make a decision and you will be informed," he told reporters, and noted that he wished there was more patience "in making decisions such as this one."

Vučić also announced that the labor bill will be tabled for adoption in the Serbian parliament next week.

“There should be no waiting or standing still, and nothing should be postponed,” Vučić told the news conference

Aleksandar Vulin, minister of labor, employment, veteran and social issues, stated earlier on Monday that parliament will have the last say in terms of the labor bill, but that the voice of the Social and Economic Council, trade unions and employees will be heard as well.

According to Vulin, there are "two completely confronted positions" when it comes to the draft, and that the state will have to "give its ruling and say what it considers to be the higher interest."

Last week, trade unions said that the announced amendments to the law were "unacceptable."
