Statistical Office reveals 2013 inflation rate

The inflation rate stood at 2.2 percent in Serbia in 2013, while it totaled 0.2 percent in December, the Serbian Statistical Office announced on Monday.

BELGRADE The inflation rate stood at 2.2 percent in Serbia in 2013, while it totaled 0.2 percent in December, the Serbian Statistical Office announced on Monday. The average annual rise of consumer prices amounted to 7.8 percent in 2013. In December, price hikes were noted in the groups: clothing and footwear (1.1 percent), communication (0.7 percent), food, non-alcoholic beverages, and alcoholic beverages and tobacco (0.3 percent each group), transport (0.2 percent). The National Bank of Serbia (NBS) had set its inflation target for last year at between 2.5 and 5.5 percent.
