Air Serbia reestablishes Belgrade-Prague flight

Serbia's national carrier Air Serbia introduced its direct, regular flight between Belgrade and Prague on Monday.

PRAGUE Serbia's national carrier Air Serbia introduced its direct, regular flight between Belgrade and Prague on Monday. The company's new Airbus A319 landed in Prague two years after Jat Airways suspended the flight due to economic reasons. Air Serbia reestablishes Belgrade-Prague flight Commenting on the event, Air Serbia Traffic Executive Director Davor Miseljic said that Air Serbia is proud to reintroduce the flight between Belgrade and Prague, and voiced hope that this would improve the economic and all other ties between the two countries. The goal of Air Serbia is to become the leading air transporter in the region, and the direct flight between Belgrade and Prague is an important step towards that aim, he said. As of summer 2014, Air Serbia will connect Prague with Abu Dhabi, the seat of Air Serbia's strategic partner Etihad Airline. Prague Airport Vice Chairperson Marta Guthova voiced her belief that the newly established flight would increase the percentage of tourists visiting the two countries and wished Air Serbia success in its future work. Air Serbia became Serbia's national airline on October 26. Today it has over 30 flights in Europe and the Mediterranean and it also offers long-distance flights to Asia, Australia and the U.S. with codeshare partners and its strategic partner Etihad, whose stake in the Serbian air carrier stands at 49 percent.
