BELGRADE The Fiscal Council welcomed the government's program of measures to reform the public sector, Fiscal Council President Pavle Petrovic told Tanjug. However, he at the same time pointed out that a pension reform plan is missing. Fiscal Council "welcomes public sector reforms proposal" On Thursday, Petrovic said, Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic presented the government's measures to the Fiscal Council, which now has to analyze them thoroughly in the next ten days. “We have received the materials and we will analyze them in detail, and in keeping with our legal obligation, notify the parliament about it within eight to 10 days and then go public about it,” said Petrovic. He said that Fiscal Council members and Dinkic discussed two topics - structural reforms and budget revision. As regards structural reforms and restructuring of former public enterprises, “these are, as far as we have learnt so far, good measures,” said Petrovic. “It is essential that the measures are implemented,” he stressed. Petrovic said that the Fiscal Council is yet to analyze the draft budget revision and projections for 2013 and 2014. “We are yet to analyze the data in detail, but our first impression is that we have certain reserves for 2013, and in particular, we see that problems may arise concerning the deficit in the coming year,” said Petrovic. “These are only our preliminary opinions and impressions,” said Petrovic.
