MOKRA GORA The biggest regional gathering of financial leaders and economic experts, the CFO Vivaldi Summer Forum, opened in Mokra Gora, western Serbia. The event was opened late on Wednesday with a talk given by leading corporate finance and investment analysis expert Aswath Damodaran. Vivaldi Summer Forum in Mokra Gora opens Damodaran, who is a Professor of Finance at the Stern School of Business at New York University, addressed the gathering via video link and said a person running a business must strive towards one goal rather than several, because in the latter case an idea cannot be properly realized. He said risks are usually considered a negative thing in business, but in his opinion are a combination of danger and opportunity. The greatest enemy of modern business is ignorance and failure to adapt to changes, said Damodaran. Asked about Serbia's economic outlook if it gets a date for opening accession talks with the EU, he said European integration is important but will not change Serbia's basic economy, stressing that the country's economic fate is in its own hands. Serbia has no choice but to be part of the global economy. It can be a small country and still have a solid economy, said Damodaran, who will hold an expert conference in Belgrade in the first half of July. The 2nd Vivaldi Summer Forum is organized TGI International and the Mokra Gora School of Management. The forum, whose media partner is the Tanjug news agency, focuses on financial issues and economic recovery in the region, and brings together a large number of financial directors from Serbian and foreign companies, bank representatives, noted economists from the region, and representatives of the government and international financial institutions. The forum closes on Friday. Tanjug
