BELGRADE Belgrade’s Nikola Tesla Airport ranks second in Europe and seventh in the world when it comes to service quality and investments, eDreams’ poll has shown. 14 million passengers took part in the poll and said that their main criteria had been comfortableness and modern features of airports. Belgrade airport ranks second in Europe in service quality Nikola Tesla Airport ranked above Stockholm and Amsterdam’s airports. In order to even be placed on the list, an airport needs to have numerous investments and annual increase in passenger traffic of 20 percent. Nikola Tesla Airport has obtained new features in the last two years, such as VIP lounge, children’s lounge, two restaurants and a large a duty-free shop. The first phase of a terminal reconstruction has been finished and the airport has introduced high-tech electronic equipment for detection of weapons and explosives. The airport is planning on opening several world-renowned stores and souvenir shops. According to announcements, a total of EUR 40mn will be invested in the reconstruction of Nikola Tesla Airport in the next three years.
