Serbian dinar weakens by 0.4 percent

BELGRADE The Serbian dinar weakened against the euro by 0.4 percent on Wednesday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 112.9430 for one euro. According to the National Bank of Serbia (NBS), the dinar dropped by RSD 0.41 compared to the Tuesday rate. According to the central bank, the dinar reached its lowest value against the euro on August 9, RSD 119.0723 for one euro, and the strongest on January 11, when one unit of the hard currency was worth RSD 103.6922. The Serbian currency has weakened against euro by 7.4 percent this year and its value increased by 0.7 percent in the last month.

According to the central bank, the dinar reached its lowest value against the euro on August 9, RSD 119.0723 for one euro, and the strongest on January 11, when one unit of the hard currency was worth RSD 103.6922.

Since the beginning of the year, the NBS sold over EUR 1bn on the interbank foreign exchange market in order to support the dinar and it bought EUR 5mn.
