TOKYO Finance and Economy Minister Mladjan Dinkic says the government is ready to receive a mission of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) "whenever it suits them". Speaking in Tokyo, Japan, on Friday, he explained that the 2012 draft budget was finished and there was a good medium term reform plan", which he said would gain the support of the international financial institution. They today conferred with IMF Deputy Managing Director Nemat Shafik and presented the Serbian government's program for fiscal consolidation and the program for medium-term structural reforms, the Ministry of Finance and Economy released in a statement. "We informed her that the government is in the final phase of creating a three-year plan for fiscal consolidation and structural reforms, that we finished the draft document and published it on our website for comments and suggestions, and that we want to adopt it together with the budget law for 2013," Dinkic said. The Serbian delegation also took part in an Investment conference that brought together 250 investors from Japan and all of Asia, who showed great interest in new Eurobonds issues of Serbia, the statement reads. While in Japan, Dinkic also had bilateral meetings with directors of big Japanese companies - Mitsubishi, Mitsui & Co., JTI, Itochu, and others interested in investing in different fields of the Serbian economy.
