Serbian dinar weakens against euro

The Serbian dinar weakened 0.3 percent against the euro on Friday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 115.1832, the National Bank of Serbia says.

BELGRADE The Serbian dinar weakened 0.3 percent against the euro on Friday, setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 115.1832, the National Bank of Serbia says. The national currency is 0.8 percent down on this time last month, and 11.6 percent down on the year. Since the beginning of this year, the dinar has weakened 9.2 percent. Serbian dinar weakens against euro This year, the dinar hit its highest level against the single European currency on January 11 when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 103.6922, and its lowest on June 4 with the exchange rate at RSD 117.6943. Since the beginning of 2012, the central bank sold a total of EUR 1.288bn to keep the national currency stable. On Thursday, the NBS announced its foreign exchange reserves totaled EUR 10.16bn at the end of June, having spent EUR 107.6mn on interventions in the interbank foreign exchange market during the month. On Thursday, the indicative dinar-versus-dollar exchange rate stood at RSD 94.5132, reflecting a drop of 0.7 percent when compared to its previous value.
