Russian Gazpromneft will deposit EUR 400mn for a 51% stake in the Serbian Oil Industry on Wednesday or Thursday, said Energy Minister Petar Skundric today. "The transaction will take place today or tomorrow," Skundric told reporters following a presentation of a project entitled “Atlas Wind Energy Potential in Serbia”. Under the NIS contract, which was signed by Skundric and Gazpromneft CEO Aleksandr Dyukov, the Russian side committed to invest at least EUR 547mn in NIS, while the sale price for a 51 percent stake in the company was EUR 400mn. Škundrić: NIS money arriving by Thursday

On December 24, 2008, Serbia and Russia signed a contract for the sale of a controlling stake in NIS, together with two documents on the passage of the South Stream gas pipeline through Serbia and the completion of the underground gas reservoir in Banatski Dvor.

Under the NIS contract, which was signed by Škundrić and Gazpromneft CEO Aleksandr Dyukov, the Russian side committed to invest at least EUR 547mn in NIS, while the sale price for a 51 percent stake in the company was EUR 400mn.
