The Czech energy group CEZ is seriously considering participating in a tender for the construction of energy facilities in Serbia. This is according to CEZ representatives who met with Deputy Prime Minister Bozidar Djelic in Prague on Friday. Czechs interested in building power plants Djelic, who was on a working visit to the Czech Republic, said that the best bidder would be known by the end of the year. CEZ has long been interested in Serbia and the region and it welcomed the news of a tender for the construction of new energy blocks, worth EUR 1.4bn in the Kolubara and Nikola Tesla power plants, CEZ spokesperson Eva Novakova told the CKT news agency. CEZ Srbija has been operational since 2006 and it mostly looks for favorable opportunities for takeovers, CTK reported.
