The deadline for the Horgos-Pozega concessionaire to submit banking guarantees for the contract to build and maintain the highway expires today. In the meantime, Alpine PORR has introduced new demands, while the Ministry of Economy in the outgoing cabinet wishes to see the contract scrapped. Highway concession deadline nears The consortium now wants the concession extended from 25 to 30 years, with the state of Serbia guaranteeing a minimal flow of traffic on the sections of the highway where the concessionaire is slated to collect road tolls. Assistant Minister of Economy Nebojsa Ciric said that such demands are unrealistic, and that this ministry, controlled by G17 Plus, believes the contract should be annulled.
