Finance Minister Mirko Cvetkovic says that the budget for the Serb and non-Albanian population in Kosovo comes to some EUR 500mn. The minister said that the government had adopted an edict a few months ago according to which Serbs leaving the Kosovo institutions would be accepted in the corresponding Serbian institutions. He said that all the Serbs in Kosovo that were paid by the Serbian state, received a “Kosovo bonus,” meaning that they effectively received double wages. Cvetkovic said that this should only be applied in the enclaves, as life in northern Kosovo was hardly any different from life in central Serbia.
