On Monday, President Boris Tadic attended an economic forum with U.S. companies in New York. He outlined Serbia’s economic strategy at the meeting, and called on investors to come to Serbia. Tadic invites U.S. investors to Serbia American companies already doing business in Serbia, including U.S. Steel and Nortel – a global leader in wireless and standard data transmission and the internet - advised representatives of other U.S. companies to invest there, stressing their own positive experiences. Tadic said that all American companies trading in Serbia were operating successfully, were exporting and creating new jobs, and reiterated that the U.S. was also a strategic and economic partner to Serbia. The president is currently in New York, where he is due to give a speech at the 61st annual session of the UN General Assembly on September 2 .
