Governor Jelašić also reminded that the state will continue to be financed from the temporary budget until March 31.“We can only adopt a temporary budget once. After April 1, both our budget revenues and spending will not be regulated”, Jelašić warned.
The governor says that the announced rise in the prices of heating and electricity should not influence overall inflation figures, adding that many prices could go lower if Serbian market introduced proper competition.
“After 10 years, I decided to buy a new TV set and did a little research on the internet. I found out that a TV costs 549 euros in Germany, 625 euros in Hungary, while the price range for the same product in Serbia spans from 994 to 1,098 euros. This is not about the customs fees, nor the exchange rate, this is about a lack of competition”, Jelašić said.
