Russian loan and "importance of Serbian infrastructure"
25 October 2009 | 12:45 | Source: Tanjug
BELGRADE -- Minister for Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjić on Saturday in Belgrade commented on the announced Russian loan to Serbia.

He said that the agreement on the loan, "of which USD 800mn should be spent mostly on transportation projects", is the best proof of the importance of the Serbian infrastructural development.

Mrkonjić told Tanjug that his department expects that the funds from the Russian loan will be available before January 1, 2010.

"The loan granted to Serbia for the revival of the economy without any conditioning, of which USD 200mn will go to the budget and USD 800mn for development projects, is yet another European and world confirmation of the quality of our transportation and infrastructure projects," said he.

Mrkonjić recalled that the World Bank and European Investment Bank had approved loans for the construction of Corridor 10, the Belgrade-Novi Sad, Belgrade-Vranje and Belgrade-Dimitrovgrad sections.
