2010 draft budget ready
20 October 2009 | 13:04 | Source: Tanjug
BELGRADE -- The government has prepared the draft 2010 budget, says Finance State Secretary Slobodan Ilić.

He stated that, besides the budget proposal, the government had prepared two sets of measures geared towards reducing public spending and changing its structure.

The draft budget includes a four percent budget deficit, stated Ilić, adding that the proposal would be discussed with the IMF representatives who are arriving in Belgrade on Thursday.

The goal of the first set of measures is to reduce public spending by freezing salaries in the public sector, reducing the number of employees in public administration and reducing spending on acquisition of goods and services, he explained.

The measures’ second goal is to reduce current expenditure and increase investment in investment programs.
