"We talked about further development of bilateral trade and economic relations, “ Shoigu said, summing up the results of a two-day meeting between the Russian-Serbian inter-governmental committee, the Russian Itar Tass agency reported.
Deputy Prime Minister Ivica Dačić, who led the Serbian delegation at the Moscow talks, said that the two counties’ goal was to double trade in the next five years.
"Russia’s our largest export partner,” Dačić said.
At the meeting, the two sides decided to extend the free trade protocol, he said.
In the period between January and March of 2009, Serbia will extend the list of products exempt from tax in bilateral trade with Russia.
"We are talking about medication, office supplies, carpets,” Dačić said, adding that cars would probably be added to the list in the near future.”
