He also thinks that "all ideas that bring irresponsibility and are under the motto, 'someone else will solve our problem,' are terribly popular in our country."

But, said Vucic, the government of Serbia will for that reason have "a very responsible and serious policy" for as long as he is at its helm - a policy of hard work and fundamental changes. He also said he was grateful to Hahn for "sincerely caring about Serbia and the Western Balkans."

"We need peace and stability, we need reason, and the government will do everything so that the processes in Serbia go in that direction. We won't do better if others are doing worse, on the contrary," Vucic said.

The bigger growth in Europe, he continued, "the better for us, since we export 65 percent of our goods to EU." According to the prime minister, "some people don't want to understand that."

Vucic also said that the state will continue to spend only as much as it has earned, "and no strikes will change anything there."

He then told reporters that he will be "among the first to make contact with the new U.S. administration, probably among the first in the region."

Vucic today visited the National Museum in Astana and by taking part in a ceremony to open the street named after Serbian American inventor and scientist Nikola Tesla. Vucic in this way ended a successful several-day visit to Kazakhstan, where he led a business delegation, Tanjug reported on Wednesday.

During the three-day working visit and his meetings with the country's top officials, it was stressed that Serbia and Kazakhstan want to further deepen the good cooperation, especially business ties.

Bilateral contacts will continue, with Kazakhstan's parliament speaker and the deputy PM and minister of agriculture soon due to visit Belgrade, while the Serbian president will travel to Astana next summer.

It was also agreed that Serbia will participate in the Expo-2017 in Astana.

The prime ministers of Serbia and Kazakhstan on Tuesday opened the Business Forum, attended by about 60 businesspeople from Serbia and 110 from Kazakhstan.

During the gathering, numerous deals were made, including a contract to manufacture fire trucks in Serbia and sell them to Kazakhstan.
