Serbia has been recognized as a country making a major contribution to dealing with the migrant crisis in a humane and responsible way, Delegation head Michael Davenport said.

In this regard, the EU supports the Serbian authorities at all levels to reduce the impact of the migrant crisis on local communities, and the EU Delegation and the Serbian government are working together to determine the priority needs to make the best possible use of the 40 mln euros, the statement said.

In the months and years to come, Serbia will also benefit from significant additional funds to be released for migration and border management, the statement said.
