Architectural and construction works took place on the interior and the roof of the school building. Toilets have been remodeled, new sanitary utilities purchased, and full repair works have been done on the water supply and sewage, as well as electrical wiring. The school kitchen is now fully equipped, while the missing pieces of the school furniture have also been replaced.

The BIC company funded this effort with EUR 20,000, having raised the money by setting aside RSD 50 from each sale of an item from its stationary products line that was labeled with the sticker, "Battle for the Schools." Representatives of BIC and the B92 Fund visited on Friday the students, who organized a drawing workshop, and presented their guest with presents.

"We are really happy that the kids in Beljajci have a renovated and equipped school, where they will now be able to study with pleasure. For a third year our company and the Fund B92 have been cooperating in the humanitarian project 'Battle for the Schools.' And in the coming period we will continue this cooperation with the goal that all children in Serbia get educated and grow up with dignity," said BIS marketing director Marija Pasuljevic.

Chairman of the Board of B92 Fund Veran Matic attended the ceremony and said on this occasion: "The list of the schools that are waiting to be renewed is quite long. We thank BIC for their support and the continued battle, and invite other donors that are able to join us to create better conditions for the education of our children."

"On behalf of the Despot Stefan Visoki elementary in the Despotovac Municipality and on my own behalf, I wish to thank most sincerely the Fund B92, Mr. Veran Matic, as well as the donor company BIC for this valuable donation. The school in Beljajci has a new look, and its students and staff enjoy better working conditions and education," said school headmaster Tomica Simic.

Last year B92 Fund, in collaboration with BIC, launched the campaign "Battle for the Schools." On that occasion, the first "victory" was declared in the detached classroom of the St. Sava's elementary in Vrbnica, a village near Sjenica - a mountain plateau in southwestern Serbia.
