Belgrade resident Milos Sudar has been attacked by a group of armed asylum seekers, the daily Vecernje Novosti is reporting.

According to the newspaper, the 36-year-old arrived at the parking lot on Monday afternoon to find a group of about ten migrants, "some of whom were sitting on his car," while "a bunch of stuff" was also put on top of the vehicle.

When Sudar asked the migrants "to get up from his car" - they responded by assaulting him, armed with knives and wooden poles, with the police intervening to prevent a physical altercation.

"I gestured that they should move away, because they can't understand me, but they reacted only when I shouted at them the second time. Then about 20 more migrants ran toward me from the park near the Faculty of Economy, armed with wooden poles," Sudar told the paper.

His neighbors who were eyewitnesses said that several migrants produces knives and daggers and "pointed them at Sudar."

His sister, Ana Sudar, who also witnessed the incident and sought help from the neighbors, said her brother was so upset he "did not realize what was happening and that his life was in danger."

"They (the migrants) carried knives, and when the police came and separated them, one of them took a photo of Milos and threatened that he would kill him," she said.

According to the newspaper, residents in nearby buildings have been experiencing problems with migrants at the public parking lot for over a year - with some forced to park as far away as in New Belgrade, across the river. They say they occasionally find their vehicles dented and with punctured tires.
