Serbia "will never be on verge of bankruptcy again"

"Thanks to the economic measures undertaken and the implemented reforms, Serbia will never be on the verge of bankruptcy again, but on the path of progress. Our goal is to ensure better living standards for all Serbian citizens," a statement from the government press office quoted Vucic as saying.

Welcoming Sosa, Vucic noted that implementation of the IMF program would be one of the main economic goals of the future government, adding that he expected the successful cooperation with IMF representatives to continue.

Vucic thanked Daehaeng for his personal commitment and assistance provided to Serbia, and the wish to back Serbia's economic development.

Daehaeng noted that he was not aware of any country in the world that had managed to cut its budget deficit from 8 pct to 2 pct of GDP in just two years.

He particularly noted that he was impressed by Vucic's leadership and courage to always tell Serbian citizens the truth, however painful it might be.

Sosa agreed Serbia was on the right track in terms of economic and political reforms.
