Komercijalna, B92 Fund present donation to Negotin hospital

This is the tenth donation in the "Together for the Babies" campaign launched by Komercijalna and the B92 Fund, where the bank donates money from its own funds each time one of its clients makes a payment using its credit cards. Nearly RSD 47 million has been raised in this way, funding also the donation to the Negotin hospital, providing it with equipment to improve the level of health care and protection for babies and their mothers.

"In this campaign - beside the B92 Fund and Komercijalna bank - a great role is also being played by our clients, because every time they use Komercijana's cards, the bank sets aside money from its own funds to renew maternity hospitals in Serbia. This means that clients in Negotin, too, together with the bank, helped purchase this equipment and helped win the fight for the future of their city and its surroundings. The next donation will be to the maternity ward in Kladovo, so our attention remains focused on this region," said Alexander Picker, Komercijalna's Chairman of Executive Board, and added:

"Komercijalna Banka will also continue, within the 'Together for the Babies' campaign, to help equip other maternity wards in Serbia in the future. The bank is determined to invest in children and youth, we invest in our common future. Through socially responsible projects, Komercijalna Banka in the best way demonstrates its attitude and understanding that its clients, partners and all individuals from the surroundings it is in contact with, have a common goal - to help those who sorely need it."

"The campaign is significant in a multilayered way: not only are we equipping maternity wards with top-quality equipment aimed at decreasing the mortality of prematurely born babies and those who immediately after birth need further assistance, but we also in this way encourage potential parents to decide and dare in favor of parenting, providing at the same time medical workers with conditions where they can provide superior service to babies and mothers," said Veran Matic, President of B92 Fund’s Board of Directors, and added:

"Komercijalna banka, together with its depositors, has contributed to creating a chance to change the trends, and for Serbia to no longer be losing population the size of two Negotins every year."

Director of the Health Center Negotin Dr. Biljana Paraskijevic thanked the bank and the fund for contributing toward creating better conditions for upcoming generations.

"It is a great pleasure and an honor that our health institutions and the department of gynecology and obstetrics received a very valuable donation from the 'Together for the Babies' campaign. The donation will contribute to a higher quality of work of doctors and provide a much better service to patients. I thank the B92 Fund, which implemented this donation through its activities, as well as Komercijalna Banka, which is the donor of all the equipment we have received," said said.

Prior to receiving this donation from Komercijalna Banka, the maternity ward Negotin received, thanks to donors and B92 Fund's campaign, equipment worth about EUR 30,000: a pulse oximeter, as well as three patient monitors, one ultrasound machine, six neonatal aspirators, a warm table, and one gynecological table.

The campaign "Together for the Babies" is a part of the broader "Battle for Maternity Wards" action, that has been successfully implemented by the B92 Fund for the past four years. This was the 25th victory, which means that including that in Negotin, many other maternity wards in Serbia have received a complete set of the necessary equipment.

In the future, victory will be declared in 13 others, after which there will be about 15 maternity hospitals left until the end of the campaign.
