According to Dacic, it is "truly high time everyone realized Belgrade was ready for reconciliation, peace and building a common future, but that it would never let anyone humiliate Serbia."

Instead of attacking Serbia, they should "remember that the Serbian National Assembly in 2010 adopted a declaration condemning the crime in Srebrenica," he said, noting that then president of Serbia, Boris Tadic, "informed that the text was agreed upon with then member of Bosnia-Herzegovina Presidency Haris Silajdzic and Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu."

It is a disgrace that, six years on, the Bosniaks (Bosnian Muslims) and the Turks are lecturing Serbia, the only Balkan country that has passed a parliamentary declaration condemning a crime against another people, Dacic said.

"No one in the territory of the former Yugoslavia has ever passed any acts condemning the crimes against Serbs," the minister said.

In response to Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu, who has said Turkey "cannot sleep well while Bosnia is crying," Dacic said he would like to remind him of the Turkish crimes against the Serbs during the five centuries of Ottoman occupation.

"Cavusoglu ought to start crying also before the Skull Tower in Nis, that (Turks) was built from the skulls of the Serbs killed at the Battle of Cegar in 1809. Serbian mothers, too, must have felt pain when their children were taken away (by Turks) to make janissaries out of them," the minister said, adding that "some Turkish official might also kneel before the Skull Tower and apologize to Serbs for all the crimes committed during those five centuries."

Dacic then asked how Turkey would react "if Serbia were to condemn the killing of a million Armenians and call it genocide."

"Why don't Bosniaks condemn the crime against Armenians, and call it genocide, like many countries have done. And why doesn't Boris Tadic say publicly with whom he agreed the wording of the declaration we adopted in the Assembly. Surely we did not pass it without consultations," Dacic concluded.
